Photographer DAVID ELLINGSEN partnered again with BC HYDRO, shooting the POWER SMART OLYMPIC VILLAGE campaign, in time to celebrate the 2010 VANCOUVER WINTER OLYMPIC GAMES.
David recently photographed UCI WORLD CHAMPION CYCLIST STEPHANIE ROORDA, who is fresh from winning the gold medal for Canada at the UCI World Cup races in Colombia. David also shot runners MATT HILL and STEPHANIE TAIT of RUN FOR ONE PLANET for the upcoming BC HYDRO Power Smart campaign.
David also had the honor as one of 30 select artists from across North America to be invited to exhibit at the LISHUI INTERNATIONAL PHOTO FESTIVAL in China. David’s latest fine art series, FUTURE IMPERFECT, was also a winner in the Fine Art Category in the “Elements of Water” Exhibition at the Center for Fine Art Photography in Colorado, USA and a finalist at the 4th International Arte Laguna in Venice, Italy.
HELLO! CANADA’s special collectors issue, which highlights Canada’s golden moments during the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic Games is out on newsstands now. Makeup and hair stylist SONIA LEAL-SERAFIM worked with ice dancing gold medal Olympic champions TESSA VIRTUE and SCOTT MOIR for Hello!’s cover. Some of the Canadian Olympic Gold Medalists she worked with were JENNIFER HEIL, TESSA VIRTUE and SCOTT MOIR on Saturday, Feb. 26th, 2010 for HELLO! magazine. The issue will be on stands this Thursday, March 4th.
Sonia also worked with Australian Olympic Gold Medalist LYDIA LASILLA for AUSTRALIAN WOMAN’S DAY magazine at Sugar Studios last Sunday, Feb 28th. Lydia won gold in the women’s freestyle aerials. See the behind the scenes photos below.
Sonia was also busy working on the YOUNG ARTISTS FOR HAITI video with some of Canada’s brightest musical talents such as NIKKI YANOFSY, CANADIAN TENORS, SAM ROBERTS, JACOB HEDLEY, TOM COCHRANE, ESTHERO, FEFE DOBSON, EMILY HAINES, JAY MALINOWSKI, recorded a revamped version of hip-hop artist K’NAAN’s “Wavin’ Flag”, with production by renowned Canadian producer BOB EZRIN.

CHRISTINA CULVER’s golden nails were front and center in CNN’s coverage of Australian Olympic champion TORAH BRIGHT. Torah won gold in the women’s half pipe in the 2010 Vancouer Winter Olympic Games. Christina had the real pleasure of sitting down with Torah and her family to match her gold nails to her gold medal.

MARIO ANDRETTI for BRIDGESTONE TIRES, and has styled celebrities JESSICA ALBA,
KRISTIN KREUK, and SARAH MCLACHLAN. Catherine’s advertising clients include BC
TOURISM, PLAYSKOOL, HERMAN MILLER, HOLT RENFREW, and HYUNDAI.
Catherine is one of the very few wardrobe stylists who have also managed a successful
career as a props and off-figure stylist. Companies such as FUTURE SHOP, SEARS, TELUS,
MAY COMPANY, and ABC FAMILY have all commissioned Catherine for her props styling.
Catherine has also been commissioned as a producer by SHOWTIME, THE BAY, OAKRIDGE
CENTRE, RICHMOND CENTRE, WEST EDMONTON MALL, ROOTS, RALPH LAUREN, and
TOMMY HILFIGER.
